Danny Clark - Colorist | Compositor | Finisher

My name is Danny Clark and I am an Atlanta based Resolve Colorist/Nuke Compositor with over 15 years of industry experience.  After graduating with a double major in Radio, TV, Film and Finance from Auburn University, I spent several years gaining experience and working my way up at Turner Studios, which would eventually become Warner Media Studios and then Techwood Studios part of Warner Brothers Discovery.

My journey at Warner Brothers Discovery led me from starting as a freelance tape operator and NBAtv Highlight Editor to becoming a Smoke/Flame/Resolve assist.  I became fascinated with node based compositing and color correction and fell in love with Flame, DaVinci Resolve and Nuke.  Eventually I became a Compositor/Colorist at Turner Studios working to support all of the Warner Brothers Discovery brands such as CSSU, TNT, TBS, CN, Adult Swim, TCM and the rest of the WBD brands.

As a Compositor at Studios I worked on VFX for shows like The Detour on TBS, Teases and branded content for Turner Sports/CSSU working on pieces for NBA All Star, March Madness, NBA Playoffs and Finals, NHL, MLB, PGA and The Masters. Over time as a Compositor I found myself getting booked for color sessions in Resolve and utilized my compositing skills to make me a better colorist and colorist skills to make me a better compositor.

As a Colorist at Studios I worked on episodes of Great Big Story for The Weather Channel, TCM Co-Hosted programming, documentaries for Turner Sports such as the Title XI documentary with Candace Parker or 9/11 Never Forget, as well as interviews and segments for events with talent like Lebron James and Coach K.

In 2019 I went to Tyler Perry Studios as an in house Colorist working on shows like Sistas, Young Dylan and House of Payne. I grew as a Colorist working on episodic scripted programming and working closely with the VFX department to help out with VFX in Nuke when necessary. I’ve continued freelancing as a compositor for Tyler Perry Studios since leaving.

During the pandemic, in 2021, I left Tyler Perry Studios to go back to Turner Studios as a Senior Colorist. I spent two years continuing to push my skills in the craft of color correction and compositing.

Today, I am a freelance colorist/compositor for a variety of brands and am available for your finishing needs.
